Sarah Richardson
Registered massage therapist and registered psychotherapist (qualifying)
I am excited to be a part of Refine’s holistic and integrative team and to provide client care in a space where there is community and connection.
Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)
I have been working as aN RMT in the Ottawa area since 2012.
As an RMT, my desire and hope are to provide a safe and supportive environment that invites clients to connect with their bodies and to learn how they can best support themselves as they move through their life. I offer a compassionate, intuitive, and professional commitment as I work with each client towards their optimal health and well-being. I encourage active participation in the healing process and will provide self-care tools and strategies.
I am passionate about women's health. I have training and an extensive background massaging women through all stages of pregnancy (pre- and post-natal care) and have worked as a doula. I have therapeutic skills in trigger point therapy, deep tissue, and scar-tissue massage. I have experience working with all ages and needs.
In 2017, I became certified in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage, and I believe this modality to be a very effective form of therapeutic healing. More information on Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage to come.
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Through my personal healing journey and time spent as an RMT (since 2012) working with my clients I became curious about a career as a Psychotherapist. In May 2023, I graduated from Yorkville University with a Masters in Counselling. I am now a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I recognise that beginning therapy is a big decision and I believe it is a courageous step. Your mental wellness and your connection to self is essential and deserves time and space. The healing process is unique to each individual and as your therapist, I intend to meet you where you are, to learn about your needs and goals, and how I can best support you. It is my objective to provide a safe therapeutic space grounded in non-judgement and curiosity to support your capacity to authentically explore and process your experiences. It is my hope to support you to develop healthy ways to manage distress, to get unstuck, to develop new perspectives on unresolved issues, and to improve overall wellbeing.
